 ELECTROENERGETICS
The Azerbaijan Republic possesses significant power resources. Alongside with rich traditional sources (oil, gas), the country has big hydropower resources. The hydro energy potential of the rivers is estimated to be 5.5 million kilowatts.
There are perspective opportunities to development the alternative electric power industry, use of a wind power and the solar energy. Huge stocks of heat, which can be used for central heating of buildings, hothouse facilities and other purposes, are also concealed in entrails.
"ÀZERENERGY" Joint-stock company carry out the production of the electric power in the republic (thermal and hydroelectric power stations). On the average, 23 billion kilowatts-hours of power are produced within a year. "BARMEK AZERBAIJAN" and "BAYVA-ENERJI" Companies are engaged in the realization of the electric power.
